Amsterdam Light Festival - Open Boat

Special Dutch winter foods are hearty and sweet, perfect for colder months. The Amsterdam Light Festival 2024 is an annual event showcasing stunning light art installations created by artists worldwide. This year’s festival runs from November 28, 2024, to January 19, 2025, with the theme “Rituals”, tying in with Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary celebrations. The artworks are displayed along a 6.5-kilometer route through the city’s canals and streets, and visitors can explore them on foot or by boat.

The festival’s lights are on daily from 5 PM to 10 PM (extended until 11 PM from Wednesday to Saturday and during the Christmas break). For an interactive experience, you can use the festival app or join guided tours. Highlights also include a central Light Garden in the Hoftuin with exhibits, food stalls, and free Friday events in December.
