The IJ connects Amsterdam’s city center and Amsterdam-Noord. Sailing across the IJ you can see the EYE museum with its beautiful shapes (IJpromenade 1) and view the Central Station from a different point of view. Once every five years, the IJ is the highlight of SAIL Amsterdam; historic Tall Ships and countless boats then cover the IJ for a few days. In 2015 was the last edition of SAIL Amsterdam. The next edition will take place in 2020.
