Skipper on canal cruises Amsterdam (KVB)

What will you do?
As skipper at Flagship Amsterdam you are responsible for the safe and comfortable transport of our guests in one of our beautiful open sloops or luxury salon boats. In addition, you will join the host(ess) in telling stories about the city while the host(ess) provides guests with a delicious cocktail.

During your position you will:

• Cruise the guests around during a public tour or private cruise;
• Ensure the safety of the guests and staff on board;
• Tell stories about Amsterdam, its history and sights;
• Answer guests’ questions and provide assistance as needed;
• Maintaining and checking the vessel and identifying any problems;
• Working a lot as a team, including with hosts and quay staff;

Job requirements

What do we ask?
As a skipper at Flagship Amsterdam, it is important that you have communication skills and love working in a team. You are also flexible, enthusiastic and hospitable!

In addition:

• You are in possession of a boating license (KVB 1 or 2), VHF license and the certificate for Social Hygiene (SVH) OR you are willing to get these on short notice;
• As a skipper you will be following our Flagship Academy practical training courses;
• Experience with sailing on the Amsterdam canals is a plus;
• You are available to work 8 to 36 hours per week (of which at least one weekend day per week). Shift times can vary between 08:00 and 02:00.
